Revela Legal

Privacy Policy

Last updated 11 August 2026 · Revela, OCR Translator

Revela (“the App”, “we”, “our”) is developed by Mustafa Alperen Açıkgöz. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect information when you use the Revela mobile application on Android and iOS.

1. Information we collect

We do not require account registration. No username, email or password is collected during normal app use.

  • Usage analytics, via Firebase Analytics: anonymised event data such as screens visited, features used and session duration. Aggregated, and never linked to personally identifiable information.
  • Crash reports, via Firebase Crashlytics: device model, OS version, app version and anonymised stack traces. No user content, text or images, is included.
  • Purchase data, via RevenueCat: subscription status and transaction IDs provided by the App Store or Google Play, under an anonymous user ID. We never receive payment card details.

2. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

We process the data above under legitimate interest, keeping the App working, diagnosing crashes and preventing abuse of subscription features, and contractual necessity, to fulfil a subscription you purchased. We do not rely on consent for these purposes, because the data is anonymised or aggregated and is not used for advertising or profiling.

3. On-device processing and permissions

All text recognition, translation and speech recognition are performed on your device. On Android this uses Google ML Kit (Text Recognition, Translation). On iOS it uses Apple’s native on-device frameworks, Vision, Translation and Speech, instead of ML Kit. Your photos, scanned text and voice recordings are never uploaded to our servers.

  • Camera, used to scan text. Images are processed on the device and are not stored or transmitted by us.
  • Microphone, used for speech recognition and pronunciation practice. Audio is processed on the device and is not stored or transmitted by us.
  • Photo library, used only when you choose to import an existing image. We do not access your library otherwise.

4. Third-party services and international transfers

Service Purpose Policy
Firebase Analytics Usage analytics firebase.google.com
Firebase Crashlytics Crash reporting firebase.google.com
RevenueCat Subscription management revenuecat.com
Google ML Kit (Android only) On-device OCR & translation developers.google.com

These providers may process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens they do so under their own certified safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy framework. We do not operate our own servers or databases.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.

5. Data retention and deletion

Analytics and crash data are retained by Google and Firebase under their standard retention policies, up to 14 months. RevenueCat retains purchase records under its own policies. You may request deletion of analytics data by writing to support@thealpps.com.

6. Children’s privacy

Revela is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 in the EU. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

  • Access, request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Deletion, request deletion of your data.
  • Opt out of analytics, ask us to disable Firebase Analytics collection for your device.
  • Opt out of sale, not applicable: we do not sell personal information.

To exercise any right, write to support@thealpps.com. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect information, but no transmission over the internet is entirely secure. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your data we will act consistently with applicable law; because the App collects no email address or account, we may not be able to notify you individually, so we recommend keeping the App up to date.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date above will reflect any change, and continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
